Gram Parson's Birthday Tribute on The Barn Dance-Polly Parsons/Pamela DesBarres/ Dale Watson circa 1990

Hi Everyone. This photo is from one of our earliest Gram Parson's Birthday Tribute shows on the Barn Dance at the Palomino Club. This pic from that show is of Gram's daughter, Polly Parsons, leading me on the left, Pamela Des-Barres ( Best selling book ""I'm With the Band" and member of the all female band, the "GTO's" and along with Miss Mercy, also of the GTO's who was also at this show, both sang on the Flying Burrito Brothers song "Hippie Boy") in back of Polly, and Dale Watson on lead guitar, and a jam packed well over capacity crowd of 500 ( with a line outside till 11:00 pm still waiting to get in) in the singing of "Happy Birthday" to her legendary, highly critically acclaimed, and very influential Dad, Gram Parsons. Also on the show were legendary fiddle player, Byron Berline and steel guitar player Al Perkins, both of whom played on Gram's two solo albums. And also, what a treat; former founding member of the Byrds, the late Gene Clark, teamed up with Carla Olson of one of the most popular bands on the L..A. music scene in the 80's, the Textones, to do a short acoustic set that was so chilling you could hear a pin drop in the packed club. Also on the show was Sid Griffin and the Coal Porters ( Sid of course wrote the definitive biography of the life and career of Gram), L.A.'s favorite Rockabilly Filly and one of the best interpreters of Gram's songs, Rosie Flores, James Intveld, Dale Watson, the Lonesome Strangers, the Neon Angels, Jeffrey Steele, and Jann Browne ( top 10 Country hit record "You Ain't Down Home") with the late, great Bill Bryson of the Desert Rose Band backing her up on bass.
We were also still broadcasting the Barn Dance live from the Palomino every Tuesday night on radio station KCSN, 88.5 FM at this time which made these shows extra exciting for everyone.
Thank you so much to photographer extraordinaire J. Watson Garman ( who took thousands of pictures at the Barn Dance) and the Palomino Palomaniacs Club site for these nice memories. Thank you folks.
