Hi Everyone. Many of you have already seen the photo I posted yesterday, taken by our long time friend FS Chan (Fanny) back in 1985 at the Landmark in Glendale Ca.on one of our weekly Tuesday night Rockabilly blowouts. Thank you all for your nice responses.
I just received these two photos today from another of our long time friends, Sandy Caldwell, both pics taken on two different nights at the Landmark in 1985.
"Left to Right" in both of these photos:
Me on acoustic guitar, James Intveld on lead guitar, Ricky Intveld on drums, Patrick Woodward on bass.
IS JAMES INTVELD SUPER COOL in these photos OR WHAT!!!!! Rockin' out! And now, 37 years later, he still is as great (and cool) as ever, and popular and critically acclaimed all over the world. Many thanks to Sandy Caldwell, FS Chan, and Ernie Vasquez for having taken photos of a few of our shows way back then and bringing them back to life over the last year or so by posting them. Though we are now all 37 years older than we were in 1985, it is still fun to see these pictures when we were young upstart Rockabilly puppies, as were many of you who are now reading this, and reminiscing about those exciting musical times when the Rockabilly revival and Traditional American Roots music was in full swing. And James Intveld has gone on to be one of the major and most important purveyors of Rockabilly and "Real" Traditional Country music and a major force in putting this music back on the world-wide map. Unfortunately, many of the artists doing American Roots Music, going back to the early 80's on out, have passed on to Hillbilly/Rockabilly/ Blues Heaven. And as many of you know, that includes two of the SUPER wonderful and talented members of the band in these 2 photos, drummer Ricky Intveld and bassist Patrick Woodward who were tragically lost on December 31, 1985.
Thank you all for joining in the remembering and reminiscing. All of you Were, Are, and will Always be "Family".
Thank you folks. Stay safe. Sending lots of love, hugs, and Best Wishes Always to you all.
